Died

In Craven County at the house of her father, I. B. Cox, on the 31st of May, 
Elizabeth Jane, consort of Richard Blount of Pitt, in the 18th year of her age. The

deceased was an amiable, pious young woman, and a member of the Methodist Church.

She was married on the 20th of last February with the prospect of along life and 
much enjoyment, surrounded as she was with relations so dear to her and she so dear

to them. But alas! she is soon cut down in the flower of her youth and removed, we 
hope and believe, to a brighter circle and a happier state.
