DIED, on the 6th, at Newbern, MAJOR GEORGE ELLIS, a worthy inhabitant of that 
town. His death was occasioned by a mortal wound on his head, which he 
received from the blowing up of one of the houses for the purpose of arresting 
the fire which broke out in that place on the 5th instant.
