The N. C. Argus, 2 March 1850
   DROWNED -- We learn that MR. JOHN W. LEE, a citizen of Craven County, has 
been drowned. He, with two negro men, was crossing the mouth of the Ray River 
in a boat, when it was upset and all three drowned.--Newberne Rep.
