His remains were brought over on Sunday, and on the following day interred with Military and Masonic honors. This gentleman served during the greatest part of the Revolutionary War, in the Medical Department of the Army of the United States. At the peace, he settled in Newbern and practiced physic with success for a number of years. He had the honor of representing his townsmen in the State Legislature; was a useful member of the Court of his County and served in the militia of this state, of which he was a Major General.
