   We are greatly pained to hear of the sudden death of our gallant friend, 
GEN. JOHN I. PASTEUR of Newbern. He had just been appointed by HIS EXCELLENCY 
GOV. GRAHAM, Colonel of the Volunteer Regiment of Infantry to be raised in 
this State. -- Ral. Reg.
