Probate Court - Craven County
In the Matter of Eliza Pipkin minor orphan
Application for Guardianship

To the Honorable, the Judge of Probate of said County:

The application of William S. Phillips respectfully represents that Eliza Pipkin 
is a minor child of John Pipkin deceased, and is without a guardian: that the 
said minor orphan is entitled to personal estate of the value of one hundred 
dollars according to the best information and belief of your applicant.

To the end therefore that the estate of said minor orphan may be preserved and 
managed according to law, your applicant prays that Letters of Guardianship may 
be issued to him or to such person as the Court may think best for the interest 
of said minor orphans.

This 24th day of August, 1871

Wm. S. Phillips being duly sworn says that he is acquainted with the personal 
estate belonging to the above named minor child of John Pipkin deceased; that to 
the best of his knowledge information and belief the value of said estate is 
about one hundred dollars.
