Cards are out announcing the marriage on the 18th of this month of Miss Bessie 
Whitford, the accomplished daughter of Col. John D. Whitford, of Newbern, and 
sister of Mrs. W.P. Fife, of this city, to Dr. George Glover, one of Newbern's 
wealthiest and most influential young men. The groom-to-be is a cousin of Mr. 
Geo. W. Bryan, of the Central Hotel.
