Land known as NEVIL land, also all lands in the Swamp adjoining Bay R Rd reference deeds to deeds from Carraway and John IVES. Also following Negroes: Clorinda, Mary Frank & Stephen, Moriah Aron Julia and my part of Easther, reference to bills of sale (for Easther). Son George CARRAWAY: Piece of land at the end of Whitekers Island, running down the river to Col. H. TILLMAN plantation to Wm TOLSON line, containing 350 ac. Son George CARRAWAY: Land on the head of [can’t read] Cr known as BRYAN land, also 1800 ac bought of John CARRUTHERS on Broad Cr and Bay R and 100 ac in the great pond that I got of the younger CARRUTHERS and 50 ac that I bought of Robert SHIPS on the NS of BONNER Bay. George CARRAWAY: The following Negroes—Phoebe and her child Eliza and her increase, Mack Smith and Crease Wife Sarah CARRAWAY: Negro man Gym Henry Hannah, also all household furniture to do with as she pleases Executor to have possession of all stock for support of his mother and family Daughters Sidney and Mary F. CARRAWAY: Following 15 negroes: Hyson, Edy, Joshua, Mingo, Jim, Smith, Sam, Owen, Gate, Mary, Harriett, Esther, Ann, Backus, and Jim. Negro man Jim will be hired out by the month where he will be treated well and should he behave himself well I wish him to $2.50 out of each month and the money remaining from such hyring them for the support of my daughters. The above Negroes remain in common stock until they marry or arrive at age and should either of them die before that one part go to the surviving sister and the other equally divided among wife and sons. Executor to manage Negroes as he pleases-- hire out or use for himself, but children to be educated in a respectable manner. If any negroes misbehave, executor and guardian have permission to sell. Daughters Sydney and Mary to receive $700 each to be kept at interest, but executor has permission to use interest for their support. Balance of cash after debts paid to be divided between wife and two sons Charles and George CARRAWAY Brig to be sold and money from sale to be used to pay debts, then divided equally among children and wife. If Executor and guardian of children is thought to be behaving foolishly and spending children’s property, representation being made to county court of such, and Joseph NELSON to be appointed instead.
