CARRAWAY, Joshua 		1839

Perfect mind and memory though weak in body

All debts to be paid; therefore, Negro man Asa and Negro woman Lettice, land 
where I live and all perishable property to be sold to pay debts, and what 
remains to be devoted to taking care of and schooling son Benjamin CARRAWAY and 
for support of sister Peggy CARRAWAY as long as she continues to take care of 
Benjamin.

Son Benjamin CARRAWAY: The following negroes: Denhard, Tom, Clara, & Becky, & 
Simon, Hannah, & Jacob together with their increase

Sister Peggy CARRAWAY: A negro girl named Maria and a negro girl named Patience 
in consideration of Peggy taking care of Benjamin in a faithful manner. If Peggy 
CARRAWAY dies while Benjamin is still alive, these negroes to go to him.

Executors to take the general charge of educating son to keep him at school as 
much as they think necessary

Executor: Friend Daniel TOLSON and Alexander MITCHELL
Guardian of Benjamin: Paul TOLSON
18 July 1839
Witnesses: John SHINE, O.J. DEWEY.
