I John Gatlin of Craven County and province of North Carolina, being Sick and wake of Body but in perfect Mind and memory doe Make this my Last will and Testament in Manner and form following. Item. I give and bequeave To my Beloved wife Mary One Negro man Named Norrice. Also one feather Bed and furniture. Also five Cows and Calves and Seven head of Dry Cattle. Also Two work horses and One plow and four Ewes & Two Lambs, Six Sows and pigs. The aforesd. Negro and Other good I give To her and her heirs for Ever. Item. I give and bequeave To my Son Thomas The plantation I Now Dwell on Containing One hundred and fifty acres. Also One hundred acres Joyning The Sd. plantation That I took up my Self. Also One Negro Boy, Ben. Also One bed and furntore. The aforesd. Lands & Negro Boy I give to him and his heirs for Ever. Item. I give and Bequeave To my Son Hardy Three Hundred and Eighty Acres of Land Laying on Permeto Swamp Known by the Name of hart's Island. Also One Negro boy known by the Name of young Limbo. The aforesd. Land and Negro boy I give To him and his heirs for Ever, with One bed and furnitore. And my Will further is that my wife Should have the use of my plantation and the Rest of my Estate Not before mentioned During her Life and Then be Equally Divided Between my Sons Edward and James and my Daughter Mary Harris. Except Two Negro Garls Named Vilet & Beck To be Delivered to my Two Sons Thomas and Hardy and their Increase if any. And my will is That my Executor Decide The afore Said Remainder of my Estate after The Decease of my wife Equally amongst my Three Children aforesd. And my Will is That my Lawful Debts be paid and my funeral Charges Satisfied Out of my afore Said Estate. And I Doe here by Constitute and Apoint my wife Mary Executrix and my sons Edward & James & Thomas Executors of this my Last will and Testament and I Revoke and Disanul and make Void all former Wills and Testaments here to fore by me Made and Declair This To be my Last will and Testament.
