NC Wills Vol One (1709-1789) Vols I & 2 With permission of Laura Willis Will Book A, Page 159 Will of JOSEPH HALL September the 28th 1787. As it is appointed for all men once to die, and I, being in great weakness of body, I see proper to make this my last will and testament. First, I give my soul to Almighty God, and my body to be buried in a decent like manner. Item, I give and bequeath unto my brother Oliver Hall, my houses and cleared ground where the houses now stand; also my yoke of steer, and one half of my crop of corn and peas, potatoes, and my mare till Duren Hall comes to the age of twenty-one, then to Duren Hall. Item, I give unto my sister Elizabeth Hall, all the rest of my land not before mentioned. Item, and bequeath unto my sister Hasty Nelson, all my stock of sheep, and crop not before mentioned. Item, I give and bequeath unto my dear mother, my bed, during her natural life, and at her death to Oliver Hall. And I do nominate and appoint my brother Oliver Hall, and my sister Elizabeth Hall, my Executors.
