To wit I Give and Bequeath to my Eldest Daughter ELIZABETH one Feather Bed and Furniture one Gold Ring a Linnen Wheel a Pewter Dish and Two Basons one Iron Pot and Hooks Russels Seven Sermons to Remain in my Wifes Possession until my Sd. Daughter Marries or is of Lawfull Age then to be given to her & her Heirs & Assigns forever To wit I Give and Bequeath to my Second Daughter MARY one Feather Bed and Furniture one Gold Ring a Pewter Dish & Two Basons one Wooling Wheel one Iron Pot and Hooke one Looking Glass, To Remain in my wifes Possession until my Sd Daughter Marries or is of Lawfull age then to be given to her, her Heirs & Assigns forever To wit I Give and Bequeath to my youngest Daughter SARAH one hundred Acres of Land whereon I now live one pair Silver Shoe Buckles one Gin Cape and Bottles to remain in my Wifes Possession until my Sd Daughter Marries or is of Lawfull Age then to be given to her, her Heirs & assigns forever ---- I Will That Seven Cows & Three Cow Yearlings remain with my Wife TAMER to her up untill my Eldest or any of my Daughters marries or is of lawfull age then to be Divided as follows, To Wit, That my youngest Daughter have one fifth part of said Cattle and their Increase and the Others with their increase be equally Divided between my two Other Daughters Viz! ELIZABETH & MARY and if sd Cattle should Increase in Male Kind that my wife sell as many of said Increase as will pay for Schooling Each of my Children one year and apply it to that Purpose To wit all the Residue of my Estate as Many Cattle Sheep & Hogs Household Goods and Plantation Utensils Not Bequeathed in this Will I Give & Bequeath to my Well Beloved Wife TAMER to her, her Heirs & Assigns forever and if either of my said Children die in Nonage(?) I will that her Part be Divided amongst the Survivors equally Lastly I do nominate and Ordain my Well Beloved Wife TAMER Executrix and my Friend Henry SIKES Executor of this my Last Will and Testament hereby Revoking all other and former Wills by me made and allowing no other Instrument to contain my last Will and Testament In witness whereof I have hereunto Set my Hand and Seal this Twenty Eighth of September 1779 The Words Seven Cows & Three Cow Yearlings Interlined before signed also or any of my and Witness Signed Sealed Published and Declared William Ives (Seal) as his last Will & Testement in Presence of us Corteney (x her mark) Reed Salley Ives Edw. Whitty June Craven County Court 1781---- The aforegoing last Will and Testament of William Ives, Deceased was duly Proved in open Court by the oath of Courtney Reed one of the subscribing Witnesses thereto, who swore that she was present and did see the Testator Sign seal Publish and declare the same __________ (too dark to read) the Last Will and Testament of Sound disposing mind and memory and Henry Sykes and Tamar Ives Executor and Executric therein named Qualified as such agreeable to Law.
