NOTE: Hannah Graves was Hannah KENT, daughter of Thomas Kent and Ann Cornell Kent of Rhode Island. The Kents relocated into Old Albemarle County, then to Bath County. Hannah first married a Smithwick and had two daughters by him (daughter, Anne was mentioned in Farnefold Green’s will.). She then married Captain Farnefold Green and had at least six children by him before he was murdered at their plantation close to Oriental, NC, during the Tuscarora Indian Wars (ca 1712-1714). Hannah then married Richard Graves and had Thomas and Mary Graves by him. (Mary Graves married Richard Nixon.) When Richard Graves died, Hannah Graves operated a ferry across what is now Streets Ferry, which is also close to where her son’s property, Turkey Quarter" is located. The date of death of Hannah Kent/Smithwick/Green/Graves/Linnington has yet to be discovered, although it was apparently after 1742 - some time after the date of George Linnington’s will. Submitted by Florence Fulford Moore, descendant of Farnefold and Hannah Green, through their daughter, Elizabeth. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
