This file was contributed for use in the USGenWeb Archives by: PSSistare@aol.com , Aug 2001 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Peter Mallard Will written 3 May 1741 Proved June Court 1741 In the Name of God Amen I Peter Mallard being Sick & weak in body but in perfect Memory & Mind thanks be given to Almighty God & calling to mind the uncertain- ty of this Transitory Life & that it is appointed unto all men once to die do make & ordain this my last will & testa- ment in manner & form following that is to say first & principally I Recommend my Soul to God who gave it to No- thing doubting but to Receive the Same at the General Resurrection through the Merits of my blessed Saviour Jesus Christ and my body I commit to the earth to be decently buried at the discrestion of my beloved wife & as for my worldly goods that it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with I give devise & dispose of in manner & form following. viz. Imprimus. My will & Desire is that all my Just debts & Funeral expenses be fully discharged & paid Item. I Lend unto my beloved wife Rachel Mallard all my whole Estate in General Reale & Personall to quietly be en- joyed by her or her assignes during her widowhood. Item. I give unto my Said during her Natural Life One hundred acres of Land including the plantation whereon I now dwell - in the county of Craven Also I give & bequeath to page 2 unto my aforesaid beloved wife Rachel one feather bed & furniture there- to belonging one Iron Pot & Hooks & an equal childs part of all other my movables with & equal share of Cattle & Hoggs Sheep horses mares that shall or may be a live at the day (?his) marriage to be divided at the Discretion of John Richards (?one-toward?) he shall apoint. Item. I give & bequeath unto my beloved son George Mallard one hundred acres of land being part of the tract whereon I now live with an Equal Childs Share or part of all my Estate not given already to his Mother to be Divided by the afore said John Richards in manner as above said. Item. I give unto my beloved son John Mallard one hundred acres of Land to him & his heirs for ever with an Equall childs part as above - Item. My will & Desire is that whereas my above Said wife having severall Small Children to Maintain & but a small estate to Support herself & them & possibly may be less at the day of her Marriage or death let the same be more or less.
