That is: First I give and bequeath my soul to God who gave it and my body to the earth to be buried. Item: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved brother James Royal the dwelling house and plantation, formerly the house and land of my father Thomas Royal dec'd, near Slocum's Creek, being one hundred and twenty acres. Item: I give and bequeath one hundred and eighty acres adjoining and on the back of the manner plantation to my well beloved brother Daniel Royal. Item: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved brother Francis Royal one track of land containing one hundred acres lying below the manner plantation on Slocum's Creek Branch. Item: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved brother James Royal one feather bed. Item: I give and bequeath unto my well beloved brother Daniel Royal one black cow. Item: I give and bequeath unto William Royal one black heffer yearling. Also all my goods and chattels except what has been given to be sold by my executor to pay for the funeral charges and all my just debts and what is over and above to be equally divided among my three sisters vis. Phebe Royal, Charity, and Rachel Royal and also my money. And also I give and bequeath unto my well beloved brother James Royal all my clothes and wearing apparel Except 3 1/2 yards of cheek which I give unto my brother William Royal. Lastly, I constitute my well beloved bother James Royal executor solely of this my last will and testament. His will in Dorchester Co MD dated 24 Jun 1745 said; to son Thomas Royall, land, "Cumberland.", to son Elijah Royall, My dwelling & plantation, to son Samuel Royall, he to secure 50 acres for his bro. Thomas Royall. Thomas Royall the son of the Thomas Ryal who went to MD in Service of Talbot Co 1669. moved to New Bern NC colony (Craven Co). Thomas Royall bought 200 acres in Craven Co NC 14 Nov 1771, and died in 1774. I found the land patent in the NC Land Patents Book.
