(possibly Bessie Carmon, researcher) “From “Colonists of Carolina,” by Blanche Humphrey Abee, pg. 91. “Daniel Shine and Elizabeth Green married 15 May 1715 (she was a daughter of Farnefold and Hannah Consolvo Smithwick...”Farld. Green” was witness of Daniel Shine, Prob. nephew of Elizabeth Green Shine.” The Children mentioned in Daniel Shine’s will seem to prove that the following dates of birth are correct. His son, William was under age in 1757. His wife, Elizabeth Green Shine, was apparently dead as she was not mentioned. Notice that John Oliver was named one of the Executors which adds weight to the theory that his wife, Mary, was actually a daughter of Daniel Shine, since Mary Shine Oliver was not named in the will she was, no doubt, dead too. I hope that you can find a deed of gift or something of the kind, in which Daniel Shine mentions his daughter Mary Oliver, or his son-in-law, John Oliver. I have no doubt that such was the case but would like definite poroof (sic). ibid. Children of Daniel Shine and Elizabeth Green Hannah Shine, born 16 July 1718 (named for her maternal grandmother, Hannah Consolvo Smithwick) Elizabeth Shine, born 19 Feb. 1721 (mar. -- Vaughn, v. will) Mary Shine, born 11 July 1724 (evidently died in infancy as ther was another Mary) John Shine, born 25 Nov. 1725 (mentioned in will) Mary Shine, born 21 Dec. 1727 (the Mary who marrid John Oliver?) Daniel Shine, born 10 May 1729 (mar. Barbara Franck) James Shine, born 9 Jan. 1731 (mar. Leah Yates) Sarah Shine, born 7 Feb. 1732 Thomas Shine, born 1 Oct. 1736 (mentioned in will) Francis Shine, born June 1739 (evidently died in infancy William Shine, born 25 Mar. 1741 (mentioned in will as being a minor, he was aged 16 in 1757.) Note by Florence Fulford Moore: Apparently, many researchers were of the mind that Hannah KENT--daughter of Thomas Kent and Ann Cornell Kent-- married Lawrence/Laurence Consolvo. Hannah married first a Smithwick, second, Captain Farnefold Green; third: Richard Graves; and fourth, George Linnington. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
