I will and devise that my wife Hannah STRINGER and my daughter Elizabeth STRINGER should out of what I here after in- this will and Testimony give and bequeath (?) them Equally pay my just debts and funneral charges ___(that?) is ___(that?) my said wife Hanah (sic) STRINGER should out of what by this will is left her pay the full one half of my funneral Charges and debts, and that my said daughter Eliz'a STRINGER out of what is left her by this will pay the other half of my debts and funneral charges which I desire(?) my herein(?) after mentioned Exceutors my Will be executed. I give and bequeath unto my dear mother Mary STRINGER if living and Claiming by her self or any other person for her within the ___ space of ten years ___ the date ___ one of my best featherbeds, one good rugg (sic), one good pair of blankets, one good pair of ___(midling?) sheets, one good feather ___/ 2 pillows, one good pillow and one bed ___.(slide?) Two (midling?)sized Iron potts, Twelve ___ puter plates, two ___ puter dishes, one good ___ of knives and forks to be bought by my executors out of my personal estate and delivered by them to her. Likewise I give and bequeath unto my mother Mary STRINGER if living and should come into this said Province or claim to as above an my ---(stock?) of hogs areupon a plantation or belonging there to which I formerly bought of Henry SUMMERLIN two cows and calves. I further Will and desire that my said mother who in this Province shall live upon said plantation ___ which I bought of said Henry SUMMERLIN and have to whose profits of said plantation and the use and labor of two negroes to wit. of one negroe man called big Calvon? and of one negro woman said C____ wife, Called Rose, during my said mothers natural life and after her my said mother deceased, I devise and bequeath said plantation and land containing three hundred acres unto my half brother Ralph STRINGER his heirs and assigns forever provided he or his representatives claims the said land within ten years after my said mothers decease and the above said two negroes afor(?) my said mothers decase I give to my daughter Eliz STRINGER and in case my said mother should not come into this Province and claims by herself or others any part or parcel of any bequest or legacy left her before in this my Will it is then my will and desior(design?) that my Executors here in after mentioned should make sale of my land in Adams Creek and out of the money arising from such sale pay unto my said mother if living and claiming by herself or others one hundred pistales. I give and bequeath to Anne ____ (GRIFFIN or COFFIN?) Widow four pounds shillings, I give and bequeath unto my brother in law John SHINE the one half of a tract of land I bought of Durham (?) Handcock lying on the East side of (Storey/Stoney Town Creek?) in Craven County and to his heirs and assigns forever. I further order and beseech? afor said land shall be divided, he should have his choice of which part he will except (sic) of. I give and bequest unto my said brother in law John SHINE all sums of money is indebted to me at the date here of, my silver mounted _uttoe and all my book except the family books. I give desire and bequeath unto my brother William STRINGER to him his heirs and assigns forever all my lots in New Bern I own providing he or any person for him claims in ten years and until such claims is made I give the rents and profits of said lots in New Bern to my daughter Elizabeth STRINGER. I give and bequeath brother in law Daniel SHINE my land upon Upper Falling Creek in Johnston County in this Province to him his heirs and assigns forever. I give and bequeath unto John STRINGER a cripled boy son of George STRINGER of Coor (?)Creek in this county one hundred and forty three pounds eleven shillings old bill money which his father George STRINGER is indebted to me which said sum of one hundred forty three p ounds eleven shillings I devise my executors to buy cows and calves with and take up a piece of land for said son in good place for cattle and put the cattle ___ on said land for the use of the said John Stinger (On 15 Nov 1744 John STRINGER was deeded 100 acres Craven joing Abre Odam's land, DOBBS COUNTY NORTH CAROLINA ENTRIES AND WARRENTS 1741- 1757 compiled by Wm. L. Murphy) I give to my Executors berafter mentioned one mourning Ring to each Executor each ring to be in ___ one ___ ___. I give to William Bond whatever sums of money that at this date he is indebted to me I give and bequeath unto my nephew Thos STRINGER son of my said brother Ralph STRINGER and unto my Allegitimate(sic) Thos STRINGER Equally to them their heirs forever providing they or any person for them claims in ten (?) years my land commonly called Dover containing more or less two hundred fifty acres and if any one of them or any person impowered by them should claim before the other them it is my desire that my executors should lay off to him so claiming the full one half of my said land called Dover I give bequeath unto my loving wife Hannah STRINGER Eight negroes to with one negro man called Joe Prince, one negro man called Adam, one negro man called ____: , one negro man called old Jimmy, one molatto boy named Zekiel, one molatto woman called Pat or Pegg, one negro woman called Phillis, and one negro girl.
