I John TAYLOR of Craven County being but weak in body tho of perfect mind, sense and memory, bless be God for same and calling to mind of man must die, I do hereby make ordain and appoint this and no other to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following. First, I command my soul into the hands of Almighty God nothing doubting but to meet with a faithful Creator and my body I commend to the earth to be decently buried at the Desire of my Executor here after mentioned and as touching such Temporal Gifts as it hath pleased Almighty God to bless me with: First, I give and bequeathe unto my beloved Daughter Violator GARDE, One Shilling Sterling money to be paid out of my estate and I give and bequeath to my Grand Daughter Alse GARDE, daughter of Violator GARDE, Two cows and calves they and their increase to her said Alse Garde her heirs and assigns forever and to no other ; and Also One Feather Bed and Furniture Secondly, I give and bequeath to my beloved Son Absolam TAYLOR his heirs and assigne One Shilling Sterling money to be paid out of my Estate being his full Proportian with what he has allready Received from me. Thirdly, I give and bequeathe unto my beloved Grandson, John TAYLOR, Two cows and calves, one bay mare, my Riding Sadle, my Gunn and my close bodied moreing (?) cloth coat, also I give and bequeathe unto my said Grandson John Taylor his heirs and assign all that Tract of Land and Plantation with all Improvements whereon I now Live, forever. Fourthly, I give and bequeathe unto my beloved Son John TAYLOR my bull cow and cow calf but not of belly on her and his heirs and assigns forever. Fifthly, I give and bequeathe unto my beloved Daughter Courtney TAYLOR, now Courtney REED, two cows, one of which called Flip, one Redbird and One Feather Bed & Furniture to her and her heirs and assigns with one pewter dish stamped "P T". to her heirs & assigns forever. The above Shilling Sterling mentioned given to my Daughter Violator GARDE when paid her is her full Proportion of my Estate with what she has had from me….already……. Sixthly and Lastly, I give & Bequeath to my beloved Daughter Tamer TAYLOR her heirs & assigns forever, all the Remainder of my Estate Both Real & Personal Tedious here to mention and after my debts being paid with my Funeral Expenses and I do hereby Authorize Nominate & Appoint Bazell SMITH, & ________(BLANK) my whole and sole Exc to Receive all debs due from any Person to me & to pay all Just debts due from me to Any person whatever, & my Funeral Expenses, and I do hereby Disallow, Disannul & Revoke all other Will or Wills whatever heretofore made by me or for Me. It is ordered that letters to stamentary apeare thereon accordingly."
