TAYLOR - WILL State of North Carolina County of Craven In the name of God Amen. I James Y Taylor of the County and State aforesaid being Sick of Body but of perfect mind and memory do make and order this my last Will and testament in manner following. Item: I give and bequeath unto my loving wife Peggy my feather bed and furniture. I also give my said wife one hundred and fifteen acres of land lying in said County on the prong of Colemans Creek patented by John & Absalom Taylor to her and her heirs forever. Item: I give and bequeath unto my Son Asa Taylor all my lands on head of the Black Swamp being one hundred acres to him and his heirs forever. My will is that the Residue of my estate be sold to pay my just debts and all that is over and above discharging my debts that my said wife shall have for the use of her and her heirs forever and I do publish and declare this my last Will and testament and annulling and revoking all other wills by me made and ratifying and confirming this to be my last will. In Witness whereof I have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 27th day of March 1811. I appoint my wife my sole Executor. Signed: Jas Y. Taylor was produced and the due execution thereof by the testator was proved by the oath of William Holland one of the subscribing Witnesses who swore that he saw the testator sign and Seal and heard him declare said instrument his last Will and testament said William further swore that at the time thereof the said testator was of a sound and disposing mind and memory at same time Peggy Taylor the Executor named in said Will appeared and qualified.
