Whealton Written October 2, 1796 Executors: Thomas Williams York Ives John Ives Wittnesses: John Curthers Pattyy Curthers Probated December 10, 1801 Attested by Samuel Chapman, C. C. In the name of God, Amen. This twenty second day of October in the year of our Lord one thousand seven hundred and ninety six, I Levin Whealton, being sick and weak in body but of perfect sense and memory do make and ordain this to be my last will and testament in manor and form following. In the first place, I leave my soul to God that gave it and my body to be buried at the discretion of my executor I promise my will is that all my just debts and funeral charges be paid and satisfied and as to my worldly goods which God has blessed me with in this life, I give and bequeath of in the following manor and form. Items I give and bequeath to my son Levin Whealton, all my ______ to him and his hires forever. Items I give to my said son Levin, my mare and colt.. Items it is my will that are the remaining part of my estate shall be my wife’s possessions to raise my children on during her widowhood and not to be a_ic_is had for any other use but for the necessities of my said wife and children under age and if my wife should marry my desire is that all my estate consisting of household goods and stock be equally divided amongst my wife and children.
