McNeill by sheriff's deed 4 Nov 1777, formerly property of Alexander Buchannan, dec'd, who received it as a grant, on NE/S of Cape Fear River beginning in Thomas Jones' back line, up the river to line of Matthew Raiford, Sr.'s land that was patented by James Smith. Ackd. April 1780. 25 Apr 1780, Patrick Travers and Robert Cobb, commissioners of Cumberland, for confiscation of enemy (loyalist) property to Simon Hadly, for 1750 pounds, 300 acres on NE/S of Cape Fear River, between Michael King and Walter Gibson, sold at public venue at courthouse at which sd. Hadly became highest bidder. Wit: Charles Oneill. Ackd. April 1785. 25 Oct 1782 - Michael King to John Keen, both planters of Cumberland, for 50 pounds, 100 acres on SW/S of Cape Fear River on the river bank. Wit: Thomas Armstrong, John Armstrong. Proved by Thomas Armstrong Oct. 1784. 7 Apr 1783 - Michael King, planter, to Gilbert McIntire, both of Cumberland, for 5 pounds, 100 acres on E/S of Cape Fear River about 5 miles from the river near land whereon sd. Gilbert now lives, patent 22 Jan 1773. Wit: John Armstrong, Henry King. Proved by John Armstrong July 1783. 20 Dec 1783 - Simon Hadly to John Hadly, both of Cumberland, for 200 pounds, acres not specified, on N/S of Cape Fear River between land occupied by Michael King and Walter Gibson. Proved by Patt Travers April 1785. 26 Apr 1784 - Deed of Gift, Michael King to Nathan King, both of Cumberland, Negro fellow Amstred, and 200 acres at Hadly's line & cattle. Wit: William King.
