All rights reserved. http://www.usgwarchives.net/copyright.htm http://www.usgwarchives.net/nc/ncfiles.htm ************************************************ File contributed for use in USGenWeb Archives by: Beverly Watson beverly_wat@msn.com August 1, 2010, 4:19 pm Written: October 17, 1832 Recorded: March 1833 Cumberland County, North Carolina Deed Book 40, Page 146 This Indenture made this seventeenth of October in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and thirty two between Jared Cotton of the County of Johnston & State of North Carolina of the one part and Jonas Reaves of the County & State aforesaid of the other part, Witnesseth that the said Jared Cotton for and in consideration of the sum of Twenty dollars the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged and himself therewith satisfied and paid hath bargained sold and conveyed and by these presents do bargain sell and convey unto the said Jonas Reaves one tract or parcel of land situate lying & being in the County of Cumberland & State aforesaid Beginning at a Pine in the edge of Little Stony Run then South 33 West 41 chains to a Lightwood Stump then West 29 chains to a Pine then North 40 poles to a Red Oak then to the beginning containing Seventy seven acres To have and to hold the above bargained premises with all and singular the appurtenances thereunto belonging or in any ways appertaining to him the said Jonas Reaves his heirs and assigns forever and I the said Jared Cotton do for myself my heirs executors administrators or assigns covenant and engage to and with the said Jonas Reaves his heirs executors administrators to warrant secure and forever defend the above bargained premises free and clear from the lawful claim or demand of any person or persons whomsoever and the said Jonas Reaves by virtue of these presents may by himself his heirs executors administrators or assigns enter on the above dismissed premises at any time and at all times and forever hereafter.
