Darl Reeves   }
This Indenture made the first day of May in the year of our lord one thousand 
seven hundred & eighty seven, Between Zackariah Reeves of the County of 
Cumberland of the one part & Darling Reeves of the sd state & County aforesaid 
of the other part witnesseth that whereas the sd Zachariah Reeves stands bound 
& indebted unto the sd Darling Reeves in the Just & full sum of three Hundred 
pounds specie of the said state, the sd Darling Reeves having my note for the 
sd. sum equal date with these presents presents now this indenture witnesseth 
for the further & better securing & indemnifying the sd. Darling Reeves the 
aforesaid Zach Reeves for divers other good Considerations him hereunto 
moving, he hath granted bargained sold assigned & set over by those presents 
doth hereby freely clearly & absolutely grant Bargain sell assign sett over & 
Deliver in due form of Law unto the said Darling Reeves a Certain tract or 
parcel of land lying in Cumberland County below the mouth of Rockfish Creek 
being part of the lower mouth of John Baptist ash land Containing about 70 
acres of land bounding on the river on the south, & west on land belonging to 
David Evans North & East on land belonging to Darling Reeves, also the Crops 
planting on the said plantation, likewise a negro wench named Phebe also one 
half of a sawmill on lucks lower Creek, likewise my Beds and all other my 
Household furniture plantation tools, also one sorrel horse named moon five 
sows and pigs one heifer one gun - To have and to hold the sd parcel of land 
together with all the other particulars as above discribed unto the sd Darling 
Reeves his heirs & assigns forever as their proper goods & Chattels and the 
sd. Zac Reeves for himself his heirs Executors, administraters the sd 
Bargained primises will warrant and forever defend unto the said Darl Reeves 
his heirs & assigns against the Claims of all percens whatsoever  - Provided 
always Nevertheless that if the sd Zac Reeves shall will & truly pay or cause 
to be paid unto the said Darl Reeves the sum of three hundred pounds at the 
Expiration of three year from the date here of that then these presents shall 
be null and voyd & of no affect, otherwise to be & remain in full force & 
Virtue - In Witness whereof the sd Zac Reeves hath here unto set his hand & 
seal -
