She was married to Michael D. King son of Henry and Barbara Moore King. Here is the information I got of the applications, there were two. She was 80 years old when she applied for the pension. Don't know if she got it or not, it doesn't say in the paper work I got back. From National Archives and Records Administration Arrenia King filed an "Indian Wars", "Claim of Widow for Service Pension Under Act of July 27, 1892, in the years of 1897 and 1898. (parenthesis are mine) 1897 - Sworn on the 1st of September 1897, Henry County, Alabama, Irena King aged 80, Declares she is the widow of Michael King, deceased,...who served under the name Michael King, as a Private in the company commanded by "Captain Wilson I think", in the Indian War .... that her said husband enlisted in Lee County, Ga, on or about 1835 and was discharged in Barbour County, Alabama, 1836, that he also served in Captain Richardson's Company from 1835 to 1836: .... at the time of entering the service claimed for, her said husband was 33 years of age, about 5 feet, 3 inches in height, with Black eyes, Black hair, Dark complexion, by occupation a Blacksmith & farmer, and that he was born in Wilmington County, North Carolina (actually Cumberland County, there is no Wilmington County in North Carolina.) That after leaving the service he resided in Barbour County, Ala. 4 years and in Henry County, Ala. 58 years...That she was married to him about Sept., 1833 at Baker County (Georgia), by Mr. Musgrove, a Justice of the Peace under the name of Michael King; that he had been married previously married to a Miss Cathren Greye, who died about 1826 .... That her said husband died in Henry on the 22 day of April 1867 (probably meant 1857) .... That she is a citizen of the United States .... and hereby appoints P. J. Lockwood of Washington, D. C., her true and lawful attorney...That her post office address is Oates, County of Henry, State of Ala. Attest C. B. Searcy, Clerk Circuit Court, Signed Irena X Wall, her mark .... witnessed by A. J. Armstrong and R. P. McGriff. Also personally appeared, A. J. Armstrong, aged 62 and R. P. McGriff 50 years, in Henry County, Ala .... say they have known the said Irena King for forty years .... and they are fully satisfied that she is the person who was the wife of the Identical Michael King who rendered the sevice alleged .... in the company of Capt. Richardson, in the...Indian War. Signed R. P. McGriff, A. J. Armstrong... 1st day of Sept, A. D. 1897...C. B. Searcy, Clerk Circuit Court Henry County. 1898 - Sworn to in (the) State of Alabama, County of Henry, on the 7th day of March 1898, personally appeared before me, a Clerk of Circuit Court, within and for the County and State aforesaid, Arrena King aged 82 years, a resident of Oats in the State of Alabama...declares that she is the widow of Michael King, deceased, .... who served under the name of Michael King, as a Private in the Company commanded by Captain Wilburn .... in the Indian War; that her said husband enlisted in Lee County, Ga., on or about the summer of 1835, for the term of about 1 year, and was discharged at Barbour County, Ala, on the .... Some time fall 1836; that he also served in Capt. "I think he went off to Ronoke (Roanoke, Stewart Co., Georgia) with one Capt. Jenkins (of Irwinton(Eufaula), Barbour County, Alabama) in 1836. I know he was at Ronoke fight & I think was under Jenkins." .... her said husband was 33 years of age, five feet 3 or 5 inches in height, with Black eyes, Black hair, rather dark compelxion, by occupation a Blacksmith & Farmer, and that he was born at Wilmington County, North Carolina, That after leaving the service he resided at Barbour County, Ala. 4 years and at Henry County until death. That she was married to him on the 16th day of February, 1832, at Baker County (Georgia), by one Musgrove, a J. P. under the name Michael King; that he had been previously married to Miss Cathren Greye, who died about 1826 .... That her said husband died at Henry County, on the 23rd day of April, 1857; that she has not since remarried .... and hereby appoints P. J. Lockwood of Washington, D. C., her true and lawfull attorney. That her post office address is Oats, County of Henry, State of Alabama. Signed Arrena X King, her mark, attest: W. A. Brown(?), C. B. Koonce aged 63 years, residing at Columbia, Ala .... say they have known the said Arrena King for about 50 years .... they are fully satisfied tht she is the person who was the wife of the identical Michael King who rendered the service .... in the Company of Captian Welborn .... in the Indian War, by the following facts and circumstances: by his own statements to us before he died...signed R.
