The Weekly Standard May 11, 1859
From: The Weekly Standard (at Raleigh, N.C.)  of May 11, 1859
 
Taken Up And Committed to the Jail of Cumberland County, two Negro girls, one 
by the name of ROSE, of dark complexion, ordinary stature, and about thirty 
years of age, the other named ISABELLE, of a copper color, ordinary stature, 
and about twenty five years of age; who say they they were formerly the 
property of NATHANIEL G. JONES, and are now owned by a MR. CLARK.
 
The owner or owners of said Negro slaves are hereby notified to come forward, 
prove their property, and take it away, otherwise they will be dealt with as 
the law directs.
