                   Death of Mrs. Marcus D. Armfield
   The community was shocked last Thursday to learn that Mrs. M.D. Armfield died
at four o'clock after a few hours illness. Her sudden passing away in the prime
of a beautiful and promising womanhood has brought great grief to a large circle
of friends and loving relatives.
   Mrs. Armfield was the daughter of the late William Edgar and Mary Campbell
Brady. She is survived by her husband, Mr. Marcus Donald Armfield of the
Armfield Company, wholesale grocers of this city, by an infant, by a sister,
Mrs. Owen Love of Chicago, by three aunts, Misses Alice, Ella, and Frances
Campbell of Fayetteville, and by three uncles, Capt. Alex and Mr. Charles L.
Campbell of this city and Mr. A.M. Campbell of Georgia.
   The stricken husband and family have our deepest sympathy in their bereavement.
   The funeral services were held Friday afternoon at four o'clock from the
residence on Haymount.
