The Morning Star, Wilmington, NC –  Th 9/25/1890
-Maxton Union:              
Mr. J. C. Blocker, of Cedar Creek, Cum-
berland county, died Friday night after
several weeks illness.  He was in his
80th year, and it is supposed that his
death was hastened by overwork in tak-
ing the census.  He was the father of
Capt. O. H. Blocker
