Rev. F.H. Ivey, D.D., a prominent divine of the Baptist Church, died Thursday evening in Augusta, Ga., from the effects of a stroke of paralysis and will be buried in Fayetteville today, his remains having been shipped there yesterday for burial. Dr. Ivey was a native of Fayetteville. He graduated at Wake Forest, being a classmate of Rev. Dr. T.H. Pritchard of this city. He was pastor of the church in Goldsboro for a number of years and later of the Second Baptist Church of Augusta. Wherever known he was regarded as a man of unusual usefulness and ability. Dr. Pritchard was wired to go to Fayetteville to conduct the funeral services but was unable to do so.
