May 31, 1826 North Carolina Journal "In the midst of life, we are in death." Seldom has this truth been more strickingly exemplified than it was last Friday in the sudden death of DR. EDWARD McKAY of Fayetteville. Rising from his dinner table in usual good health and spirits, he fell, in walking across the floor, so to speak -- to breathe no more. In the death of DR. McKAY, his family have sustained an irreparable loss, and society will long have to mourn for one of its most useful, active and worthy members. his remains were interred on Saturday with Masonic honors.
