Died

On the 1st inst., in this county, Capt. Neill McNeill, a native of the Island of 
Jura, Scotland, born May 9, 1771; sailed for this country August 17, 1792; landed at

Wilmington the 4th of October following; married Sept'r 19, 1799; became a Ruling 
Elder in the Presbyterian Church in the early part of the services in this vicinity

of the Rev. Messrs. Colin Lindsay and Angus McDairmid. His wife survives him, after

being married over 58 years. Besides a large number of persons who attended the 
funeral, there was a sufficient number of his grandsons to perform the last sad 
rites.
