The Morning Star, Wilmington, NC – Sa 7/7/1894
Maxton Scottish Chief:       Mr. W.
M. Medlin, a young man 30 years old,
was drowned in Puppy Creek, near Fay-
etteville, last Saturday.  It is supposed
he had a fit and fell from a foot-
log while crossing the creek.
