Wed. July 18,  1827   North Carolina Journal, 
   DIED, suddenly, in Cumberland County, on Sunday morning last, MR. JOHN 
MURCHISON, in the 36th year of his age. MR. MURCHINSON had been unwell for 
several days, and had left town for the purpose of attending to some business 
about 25 miles from home, and was returning on Saturday, when he became sudden 
indisposed, and expired in a few hours afterwards. The deceased has left a 
wife and three small children, a father and mother, and a numberous circle of 
friends. His remains were brought to town and interred with Masonic honors by 
the members of the Phoenix Lodge.
