DIED,

   At his residence in Cumberland county, 24th of June, private JOHN HENRY 
SMITH, of Co. G, 24th N. C. T. 

He as a brave soldier, a good citizen, a kind husband and father.  He leaves a 
wife, four children, and many friends to mourn his loss.  He died from the 
effects of a wound received in battle, June 2d, 1864.
