Fayetteville Weekly Observer Thurs. December 30, 1852
DIED
At Myrtle Hill, the residence of the Hon. Robert Strange,
in this vicinity, on Tuesday last, of Consumption, Mr.
JOHN KIRKLAND STRANGE, in the 25th year of
his age.
An unusual kindness of disposition, evenness of temper,
and gentleness of manners, unvarying even under the
severe afflictions of a long and wasting sickness, had
endeared the deceased to all who knew him; as his
fine mind and exemplary life had inspired high 
expectations of future usefulness and eminence. His
untimely death has cast a gloom alike over old and young.
