Fayetteville Observer, Fayetteville, NC May 10, 1855 

                    DIED 

In this County, yesterday morning, after a lingering illness of consumption, 
WM. T. SMITH, Esq., aged 44 years, 11 months and 21 days.  Mr. Smith was one 
of the most esteemed and useful citizens of the county, and his early death is 
lamented by a large family and circle of relatives and friends.
