Provenance of Page Family Photo

This photos were found in the effects of Berilla Eva Page-Breece (d1953), dau 
of Richard Page and dau-in-law of Joseph Breece. Among others in the same box 
(along with the civil war letter posted to this website), these are the only 
photos of married couples. The chain of possession is through direct 
descendants of Berilla and her husband, David James Breece, son of Joseph 
Breece and remains with direct descendants.

The Richard and Sarah (Bennett) Page photo is determined by the background 
effects, a method developed in the 1870s when photography was becoming 
affordable for more families. Artificial backgrounds were built to enhance the 
photos. Richard and Sarah both died after the turn of the century.
