CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC - WILLS - William Coffield, 14 Jan 1825 ----¤¤¤¤---- Will of WILLIAM COFFIELD, Admitted to probate September Term 1825 Recorded in Book B of Wills, Page 135 See also the minutes of December Term 1825 where this will was regularly proven In the name of God Amen this fourtenth day of January in the year of our Lord one thousand eight hundred and twenty five. I, WILLIAM COFFIELD, of the County of Cumberland State of North Carolina. Being in a low state of health but of sound mind and memory calling to mind shortness of life and certainty of death do make this my last will and testament in manor and form following First of all, I commit my soul to God who gave it to me and my body to the earth from whence it was taken. To be decently buried at the discretion of my executorrs the will be herein named. Item. Then all my just debts to be paid out of my worldly good Item. I lend to my beloved wife, SARAH COFFIELD, during her natural life or widowhood all my lands, houses and household and kitching furniture all my sock(?) and tools of every kind all my money notes and accounts that I may dye possesed of while she remains my widow. Item. Then after the death of my beloved wife SARAH COFFIELD or enter(?) marriage, I give and bequeath unto my son CORNELIUS COFFIELDS three children one dollar to be equally divided amongst them Item. At the death of my beloved wife SARAH COFFIELD or inter marriag, I give and bequeath unto my son ZACARIAH COFFIELD one riffle (given?) besides what he hath already had Item. At the death of my beloved wife SARAH COFFIELD or inter marriag, unto my son in law DANIEL BOWLIN one dollar Item. After the death or enter marriag of my wife (in love?) I give unto my daughter ELIZABETH COFFIELD one bed and furniture and a lume, and a cow and calf Carried over (next page) Item. After the death of my wife or her enter marriage, I give and bequeath to my daughter MILA MATHES (?) one linnen wheel together besides what she has had Item. After the death of my wife or her enter marriage, I give and bequeath unto my son ISAAC COFFIELD, all my lands that I may die possessed of and one horse bridle and saddle bed and furniture Item. After the death of my wife or enter marriage, I give and bequeath unto my daughter HARRIETT GREGORY, one woollen wheel, together with what she has had Item. After the death of wife or enter marriage, I give and gequeath unto my daughter MARY COFFIELD, one bed and furniture, and one cow and calf, and one trunk and sixty five dollars in cash Item. At the death or inter marriag of my wife all that is not named in this will hereto fore to be sold and the amount of the money arising from the sales to be equally divided between my son ZACARIAH COFFIELD, my daughter ELIZABETH COFFIELD, and my daughter MILY MATHEWS, and my daughter HARRIETT GREGORY and my dauther MARY COFFIELD share and share alike. Item.
