Shepherd with George Jones, William Taylor and Ferq. C. Armstrong, Freeholders, be a committee to lay off to Mrs. Barbara King & Family one year support for her, out of the Estate of her decd. husband, Henry King. Shepherd Barbara King Widow of Henry King Year Allowance Filed 17 April 1822 State of North Carolina Cumberland County We the undersigned being appointed be the Probate Court of the County aforesaid at April Term 1822 a committee to lay off to Mrs. Barbara King & Family one years support for her out of the Estate of her deceased husband, Henry King & to report to the next term have in obedience to said order this day met at the house of said Henry King decd. and having acertained the numbers in family requiring support together with such other matters as were deemed necessary for us to ascertain - beg leave to report the following allowance to the said Barbara King for the support of herself & family being sixteen in number. To wit twenty five bushels of corn in addition to the quantity on hand estimated by us to be seventy bushels - and also the proceeds of the growing wheat crop(supposed to be about four acres sown). Seven hundred pounds of bacon in addition to the quantity now on hand supposed to be five hundred pounds. Fifty pounds hog lard. Eighty pounds brown sugar - twenty five pounds coffee - twelve gallons molasses - fifteen pounds loaf sugar - one pound tea - one barrel flour - and five gallons brandy.
