First to my beloved wife, Mary, I give and bequeth Pegg, a Negro wench, her increase excepted, to be disposed of as hereafter directed, also lend to her during her natural life the Negro Judd -- Tom -- Kate -- Ann and Taffe and one hundred and twenty acres of land whereon I now live, and after her death the land to be my son Charles'. The Negroes and their increase to be to be divided equally among my children (to wit) Sophia, Sally, Henry, Joseph, Zilpha, Charles and Isabell, and one my wife is now big with. Also I give and bequeth to her my stock of cattle, sheep, hoggs and horses as follows: The white mare horse, Dalik, and the sorrel black face, the crop and the whole of my household furniture that I do not otherwise dispose of. To my son Michael I give 200 acres of land whereon he now lives. To my son William 5 shillings, he being already provided for. To my son Nathan one Negro boy Robin, one bed and furniture. To my daughter Keziah Ann what is now in her possession and the first child that Pegg has that lives to one year old. To my daughter Sophia a Negro boy Isaac, and Negro girl Lilla 3 months old. To my daughter Sallie a Negro girl cloe. Mariah Negro girl daughter of Kate. To my son Henry 200 acres of land back of what I bought of Duncan McNeill and a Negro boy Noah. To my son Joseph 120 acres of land to be cut off the front of the plantation whereon I now live and a Negro boy Sam three years old. To my daughter Zilpha a Negro girl Hannah, Cloes' daughter. To my son Charles 120 acres of land whereon I know live being the back part of 240 acres, the other part already given to my son Joseph. To my daughter Isabell a Negro boy Jack, son of Kate. To the child that my wife is now big with, the child that Pegg shall have at the age of one year, after Kaziah gets the first. I also give to my son Nathan 200 acres of land on Raeford Creek. The increase of Pegg if she should have more then is already disposed of to be equally divided among the following children,(to wit) Henry, Joseph, Zilpha, Charles, Isabell. The Following horses to be sold to pay my debts (To wit) Jeney, Ja White, Mare, The sorrel two year old. The gray year old colt and a note of hand of Edward Bird to be used for paying my debts. The above children to recieve their share when they come of age. To my grand child Michael Mathews one Negro Penn, after my death when called for.
