CUMBERLAND COUNTY, NC - WILLS - Malcom McPhail, 3 Apr 1851 ----¤¤¤¤---- State of North Carolina Cumberland County I Malcom McPhail of the county and State aforesaid being of sound and dis??asing mind and memory Blessed be God, and knowing the uncertainty of life, do, this the third day of April in the year of Lord one Thousand eight hundred and fifty one, make this my last will and testament in manner and form as follows. Viz 1st. I give and bequeath to my relatiion and friend Hugh McPhail all my land stock of all Kinds farming utensils household and Kitchen furniture also my negro girl named Sylvey also my negro boys, Richard and Philip. 2nd I give and bequeath to Mary Brown wife of John Brown of this county Fufty Dollars in money to be paid to her by my executor 3rd I give and bequeath to Nancy Philips my sisters daughter ten Dollars 4th I give and bequeath to Catharine Philips my sisters daughter One Dollar 5th I give and beqeath to my sister Mary Stuart ten Dollars to be paid by her son Angus McPahil who is due that amount 6th I give and bequeath to Malcom McPhail Son of Alex McPhail now of Fayetteville twenty Dollars to be expended in his education over 7th I give and bequeath to Malcom McPhail son of Alex McPhail of Upper Little River twenty Dollars to assist in his education. 8th I give and bequeath to Mary McPhail and Eliza McPhail daughters of John McPhail my negro boy Cumberland(?) 9th I give and bequeath to Archd McPhail son of Alex McPhail of upper Little River my negro girl Mary 10th I give and bequeath to Alex McPhail of Upper Little River One Dollar 11th I nominate appoint and constitute Hugh McPhail Executor to this my last Will and testament In Testimony whereof I Signed Sealed & have hereunto affixed declared in presence of my hand and seal Peter Munroe(?) his Duncan Shaw Malcom X McPhail (Seal) mark State of North Carolina Court of ???? ????????
