John Stevens 1779 will

Lend to beloved wife Sarah the land plantation, buildings and all utensils, 
half of grist mill and saw mill, stock of horses, cattle, household furniture, 
Negro boy named Sharper, Negro girl named Charity. 

To oldest son Francis twenty shillings currency, having formerly granted and 
given to him a full share with my other children.

To son John five acres of land on upper side creek with buildings and formerly 
occupied by Colen Schaw; one half of my grist mill and saw mill together with 
five acres.

To oldest daughter Mary twenty shillings, having formerly paid her her full 
share.

To daughter Sarah a cow.

To daughter Anne one bed and furniture.

To daughters Sarah and Anne Negro girls named Hannah and Nan.

To daughters and at wife's decease Negroes Sharper and Charity together with 
my stock of horses and cattle.

To son James and at wife's decease one half of grist mill and saw mill.

In case the child which my said wife Sarah is now pregnant with should be a 
son, one half of the property which descends to my said James; if a daughter 
she shall have an equal share of the property which descends to my daughters I 
had by my said wife Sarah.

Executors after my decease shall sell my four hundred acres lying in Anson 
County, together with two Negroes named Priss and Isaac, in purpose to pay off 
my debts.

Appoint my wife Sarah to be my executrix and my trusty friend Philip Raiford 
my executor.

Witnesses: John Gilmore, Jacob Mattheus.
