State No Carolina                     To the Surveyor of
Currituck County                      Currituck County

Whereas by Virtu of act of assembly passed at Newbern in the year of one 
thousand Seven Hundred and Seventy Seven Establishing officers Receiving 
Entrys of Claims For land in the Several Countys within This State whereas 
Jesse Ives and Josiah Cherry Of Said County Did legally Enter a Certain piece 
or parcile of Vacant Swamp Situated In Mayock District and in The County As 
said as appears by the Inked Coppy Of Entry No. 187 and Dated Feb 26th 1801 
and No person Appearing within the time Limited By law to Claim the Said lands 
I Do therefore in pursuance of said act Require You to Survey the said land 
and Make Return to the Secreterys office Agreeable to law Given under My hand 
and Seal.
