   Know all men by these presents that I James TOLER of the state of
No. Carolina,Currituck County for and in consideration of the sum of four
hundred dollars before the misealing and delivery,to me in hand paid have
bargained and sold and by these presents doth absolutely bargain sell and
deliver unto Caleb TOLER one Negro wench named Phillis and one Negro child
named Lovie to have and to hold the aforesaid Negroes with their increase
to him the said Caleb TOLER and his heirs forever from me my heirs forever
and I the said James TOLER for my self my heirs do forever warrant and
defend the said Negroes unto the said Caleb TOLER and his heirs forever and
from the Lawful claim or claims of any other person or persons whatsoever.
In witness whereof by virtue hereof I have hereunto set my hand and seal
this 27th day of October 1801
