In the name of God Amen I, James Burnam of the County of Currituck, and the province of North Carolina, Planter, being at this time weak of body but of perfect sound, and disposing memory. Calling to mind the certainty of death and uncertaintyof the time it may happen. do make and ordain this my last will and testament. I give and bequeath to my cousin Jacob Burnham, one young mare called Hazard, one sow and piggs, six pewter plates, one pewter dish, one pewter bason, one Gunn sword, and (carriage bag ?) to him and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to Love Rowland one feather bed and furniture, six pewter plates, one pewter dish, to her and her heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my wife's son Sam, one bed and furniture, one sow and piggs, and cow and calf, one Gunn and small iron pot, six pewter plates, one pewter dish, and pewter bason, to him and his heirs forever. After my just debts are paid, my will and desire is that my wife Anna shall have and enjoy the use of all the residue of my estate not before given away, during her natural life, and at her decease such estate to be sold at public vendue for six months credit, the purchasers giving bond and security. And the money arising from such sale to be equally divided between Love Rowland and my wife's son Sam. And I do hereby name and appoint Frances Williamson, my whole and sole excutor to this my last will and testament, revoking and disanulling all former will or wills heretofore by me made.
