I, FRANCIS GAMMIDGE, of the prect of Corrotuck in the Province of North Carolina, being in health of body and of perfect mind and Remembrance, Praised be God, but Calling to Mind the uncertainty and Instability of this transitory Life do make and Ordain this my Last Will and Testament in Manner and form following Viz ---- Primis I Will and Bequeath my soul to God who gave it me hoping through the merits of Jesus Christ, My Ever Blessed Redeemer, to obtain the Pardon and forgiveness of all my sins, and my body to the Earth whence it was taken, to be Decently Buried at the Discretion of my Executor hereafter nominated. Item I Give and Bequeath unto my loving Cousin, HUMPHRY VINCE, all my Worldly Estate, both Personal and Real, Making him sole Executor of this, My Last Will and Testament, Revoking and Disanulling all other Wills and Testaments by me formerly made, confirming this and none other but this, to be my Last Will and Testament. In Witness Whereof I have hereunto set my hand and fixt my seal this ninteenth day of October Anno 1719. Peacock North Carolina) At a Court began & held for the sd Precinct at the Currituck ) Pct Court house the 6th Jan"y 1737 Present His Majesty's Justices These may certifie that Andrew Peacock, one of the Subscribing Evidences to the within Will who declared on the holy Evangelist that he was present and saw Francis Gammidge sign, seal and declare the within to be and contains his last Will and Testament and that he was then and that time of sound & disposing Memory and that he saw at the same time Moses Priscot & Izabel Priscot, the two other Subscribing Evidences, Sign their names thereto. Then also appeared Humphry Vince Extor to the within Will and took the Extor"s Oath in due form of Law. Ord.d that the (illegible) have Notice hereof that Letters Testamentry issue thereon as the Law directs.
