L. P. Brindle, 55, dies at Local Hospital Lewis Fillmore Brindle 55, of 1013 S Salisbury Street, died at l:50 pm yesterday at Lexington, Memorial Hospital after an illness of six months. He was born July 18, 1901 in Davie County, the son of William and Dora Orrell Brindle. He had been employed by Lexington Chair Company prior to his illness. Survivng are his wife, Mrs Mamie Powers Brindle, three sons, Walter, Roy and Willie Brindle, all of Lexington, one daughter, Mrs Joe B Gullet of Guilford College; three brothers, Charlie Brindle of Cooleemee, Alex Brindle of Farmington and Fate Brindle of Kannapolis; two sisters, Mrs Reecie Powers of Randleman and Mrs Lou Smith of Salisbury; and four grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 pm Sunday at Shady Grove Methodist Church in Davie County. The body will lie in state from l:30 until 2 and interment will follow in the church cemetery. The body will be taken to the home at 10 oclock Saturday morning. Ms Brindle has no stone at Shady Grove cemetery. She was born in July 1895 in Iredell County and was more like 62 years old. This couple were married in Kannapolis, NC April 11, 1914 and were the parents of Roy Matthew, Willie Filmore, Hazel Gullett, and Dora E Brindle.
