MRS. BRINDLE FOUND DEAD IN HOME HERE

Mrs Mamie Powers Brindle, age 54, resident at 1009 South Salisbury Street, was 
found dead at her home yesterday morning about 7 o'clock.

A native of Cabarrus County, she was born June 28, 1903, daugthter of John and 
Lissie McIntyre Powers. She was the widow of Lewis F Brindle who died in 1956.

Surviving are one daughter, Mrs John B Gullett of Rt l Guilford, three sons, 
Willie, Roy and Walter Brindle, all of Lexington, one brother Grover Powers of 
Concord:; two sisters, Mrs Julia Simpson, Concord, and Mrs Fannie Leman of 
Lexington; and 11 grandchildren.

The body was removed from Davidson Funeral Home to the residence at 4 o'clock 
this afternoon. Funeral services are planned for Tuesday at 2 pm at Shady 
Grove Methodist Church in Davie County. The Rev J O Dunn will officiate and 
interment will be in the church cemetery.

The following obit has two errors..1900 census says that Lewis was born April 
1893...he was seven years old then. If so, he was 63 years old. This cemetery 
has no record of this burial, there is no stone.
