Death of Rev. T.S. Campbell - A former pastor of the Shelby Methodist Church, 
also of the Shelby circuit, Rev. Thomas S. Campbell, a superannuated preacher 
of the North Carolina conference, died at his residence in Lexington, NC, on 
Friday morning, Dec. 28th, from pneumonia. He was a fine specimen of the old 
Virginia gentleman, a faithful and successful minister, true to man and God. 
He was born in Virginia, and joined the North Carolina conference at New Berne 
in 1831. He lived long and well, bore life's duties and burdens nobly, and he 
was ever ready for the summons to that land where youth is prepetual.
