L. Ijames, 44, died at her home in Cooleemee last Wednesday afternoon following an illness of flu and pneumonia. Funeral services were held at the Cooleemee Episcopal church Friday morning at 11 o’clock, conducted by her pastor Rev. C. E. B. Robinson. Burial followed in the Salem Methodist church graveyard. Surviving Mrs. Ijames is her husband and three children, two sons and on daughter. Five brothers, E. E., Sam, Dorsey, Faley of Davie and John Koontz of Salisbury, and one sister, Mrs. Eugene Click, of Salisbury, also survive. Mrs. Ijames was before marriage Miss Pearl Koontz, daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Koontz of Kappa. She was an excellent lady and her death has brought sadness to a host of relatives and friends throughout the county.
