DAVIE COUNTY, NC - OBITUARIES - Annie Lou Gullett Swicegood, 12 Jul 1993 ----¤¤¤¤---- *Appeared in the newspaper on July 13, 1993 Annie G. Swicegood MOCKSVILLE - Annie Lou Gullett Swicegood, 95, formerly of Route 7, in the Cooleemee vicinity, died Monday (July 12, 1993) at Davie County Hospital after an extended illness. The funeral will be at 2 p.m. Thursday at Eaton Funeral Home Chapel, conducted by the Rev. Hal Varner. Burial will be at Calvary Baptist Church cemetery, Ellis Crossroads, in Rowan County. The family will be at the funeral home Wednesday night from 7 to 8:30 and the remainder of the time at the home of a daughter, Mrs. John (Bert) Davis on N.C. 158 East. Born July 8, 1898, in Rowan County, Mrs. Swicegood was a daughter of the late Oliver Monroe and Sarah Jane Veach Gullett. A homemaker, she was a member of Concord United Methodist Church. She was an avid gardener. Her husband, Van Swicegood, died in 1951. Four sons, Floyd, James, Hubert, and Billy Swicegood, and two daughters, Hazel and Donnie Frances, preceded her in death. Survivors include another daughter, Mrs. Jack (Faye) Sisk of Statesville; two sons, Van Swicegood, Jr. and Joe Swicegood, both of Mocksville; 24 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren. ___________________________________________________________________ Copyright.
